As I wrote in my last update, the past week has been a small experiment for me. I’ve been documenting my weight every morning, and keeping tabs on everything I eat and drink (except for water). I’ve also written down if I’ve been to the gym or the likes, but since I was out-of-town half the week, not much effort was made on that front.
Surprisingly, it has not only gone smoothly, but I’ve also made sure to eat three times a day (I usually make it through the day on twice), even though one meal a day isn’t more than a bowl of cereal.
I’ve decided to keep this up, even though I probably won’t be doing any entries of it every week. But it gives me a routine, and it motivates me. Not only that, I would feel a bit bad, if when updating my lists on the phone, I enter “pizza” after days of healthy and nutritious meals. And I guess that’s an alternative to, guilty-ing myself into shape 😛
Good to keep in mind,: when I write ” cup of tea”, that’s usually around 0,5 liter of tea. “A bowl of yoghurt and muesli” is about 4dl yoghurt and 1,5dl muesli, a small bowl is about half that amount. I have not been counting every olive in a salad or every spoonful of an ingredient, but if I’ve eaten candy, I’ve been more precise with writing that down. Also, I will not be dividing everything by meals, but you’ll notice that I will logically start with what I ate first and end with what I ate last… So, here we go:

There!
I have in one week (well, actually eight days) lost 1,1kilos, been to the gym twice, had one dinner where I indulged in both cake and wine (not to mention the lovely but starch-y risotto…), and I feel pretty good.
Things that become very clear: I drink a lot of tea. Two thirds of my diet is consistent of eggs or yoghurt with muesli. Seems a bit one-sided, which should or at least could be worked on. On the other hand, it isn’t unhealthy, so I’m not stressing it.
I wonder how it would hold up in the long run, having weeks where I eat like this? Though more carbs are to be had on gym days, and I should make sure to go to the gym at least 3 times a week. But having only a “get out of jail”-free card for one day a week might actually be the way to go for a while.
It’s worth investigating. This friday I’m having drinks with friends, so i guess the rest of the week, I should keep myself in line. let’s see how that pans out.
[…] and then), and post it here as an official reality-check (I haven’t posted a food list since Måndagsbarn). This time I haven’t done much effort during the week to keep from snacking, but I am trying […]
